The main difference between these and the unit they were replacing is weight and the sturdiness of the knob. There are definitely lighter thinner that what I had. Color was also brighter that I was expecting based on the photos. Overall they fit the original holes so that was good and are doing the trick. Just wish the knob and tongue of the lock were larger a bit.
Needed a better looking, higher quality and sturdier option to the standard eye hook for a door locking mechanism. This latch is all of these. It has a bit of adjustable length that allows it to bridge the opening between the jamb and the door it is securing, but when the lock is engaged, the escutcheon part of the lock anchored on the door is designed to hold the lock in place. More than anyone would want to know about a device you'll take for granted, but this is a good little one worth buying.
