Acorn story is the classical “from rags to riches” that began in 1977 with Victor Shaffer who manufactured hardware in his garage. WWII unfortunately forced Victor to sell his small shop due to lack of materials. The new owner, Percy Lincoln Slayton reopened Acorn and launched his new collection in 1948 from the second floor of a small jewelry shop in Mansfield Massachusetts. Acorn manufactured their products from cast brass and forged iron, the same materials utilized today, and a large reason why they became known as the “Cadillac of decorative hardware”. Acorn’s home accents are all hand crafted, and include floor and wall registers, kitchen accessories, and hooks, ideal for traditional, rustic, or industrial spaces. With a rich patina, and hand made appeal, these unique pieces give interiors tones of elegance and grandeur.
