I installed this deadbolt on a new door along with a matching Baldwin handle (ordered separately but keyed the same for convenience) and it works seamlessly and looks gorgeous. I am very satisfied with this purchase. The only negative is that this deadbolt is a 5 pin lock and we had a 6 pin Medico lock previously. We couldn’t find this deadbolt with 6 pins.
I love my new Baldwin hardware! I originally ordered new Kwikset hardware for my front door from Amazon. The price was half of the Baldwin hardware but upon installing it, the "matte black" finish was chipping and scraping off. I was like, "Are you serious?" The stuff was so cheaply made, I promptly returned it to Amazon. I decided to bite the bullet and spend double the money on the Baldwin hardware. I am so glad I did. The product is very heavy and solid which gives me a sense of security for my front door. The "finish" has not scratched or chipped in any way upon installation. It looks AMAZING. I would highly recommend Baldwin over Kwikset or Schlage and MyKnobs.com has great prices. The ordering was easy, the shipping was fast and free, and I am glad I spent more money to "upgrade" to a quality, first class product. Completely satisfied customer!
