Founded in 1946, Baldwin was founded with the intention of creating decorative hardware that exemplifies outstanding quality as well as beauty. Baldwin products are made entirely in the United States with no parts being outsourced. Each item is cut from raw brass bars according to size and heat forged using an age-old technique to give it shape and design. Afterwards the item is put through the stamping press to cut any excess material and grinded to reveal a smooth product. During the 4th stage the item is give a finish and lacquered with an ultra-hard coating to make it rust and corrosion resistant. In the final step the item is buffed and polished with a jeweler’s rouge to reveal a flawless and lustrous shine. Baldwin’s entry and handle sets that have been ranked as one of the best by builders and designers alike, with an impeccable inner working that is durable and heavy-duty. The deadbolts in the entry and handle sets are reinforced with two hardened steel inserts for maximum protection and security, and contain antifriction inserts to provide a quiet closing. Baldwin locks are made from heavy gauge steel and plated with a rust-resistant coating, while the working parts are made of solid forged brass. Adirondack - Single Cylinder Handleset with Rustic Knob in White Bronze - Baldwin
This handle set is well built, super solid and looks great. We just had this installed on our new door. It has a somewhat semi 'used' look in that there are little tiny dents in the metal to make it look like it's been used. Sorta like jeans you buy with the little nicks and scratches already there to make them look worn. We bought the white bronze to match our satin nickel color for our screen door handle and kick plate.
