I had some really nice, expensive brass knobs before. They kept breaking off at the base. The weld was horrible. the base on these seem to be full cast. They are much more durable. Great patina; great design. We LOVE them. my wife LOVES them more. Very fair price as well. Thank you very much!!!! -Matthew
