I am not a contractor but fairly handy. I measured 3 times and was positive I had a 2 3/8” backset. Turns out it was 2 3/4”…but this doorknob has the option of both with a very easy mechanism on the dead latch, which saved my bacon. The kit comes with two strike plates and two faceplates, one with rounded edges, one with squared edges. The quality is impressive, very heavy and attractive. I got a privacy door, there are two exposed screws on the backplate/rose that goes on the inside at 12 and 6 o’clock and the privacy lock pin at 9 o’clock (see photo). Kit includes emergency unlock tool to be used if door is locked from inside and needs to be opened. I will definitely be buying more of these, I’m very happy.
